Enterprise DevOps Books
The following list contains some of my favorite books about DevOps, Enterprise DevOps and DevOps related topics. I'm also the author of one of them, and I think it's important you see my book in the context of other books in the area. If you think a book is missing from this list, contact me and let me know.
A new one from 2016. Have not read this one yet, but it looks very promising based on the authors.
Written by yours truly. The book picks off where others have stopped: what happens when you try to apply DevOps principles in fortune 100 organizations? What lessons can be learned?
The book is still in progress but can be purchased in beta form.
Another book I grew up on, talking about branching models, coding patterns and lots and lots of automation. This is but one of the practices you would be doing in a DevOps culture.
A seminal book that helps explain what everyday IT organizations go through. A bit dated but still very relevant, it helps to explain lean concepts and the theory of constraints as applied to the IT business. Based off of the ideas in the book "The Goal" also mentioned on this web page.
A book that doesn't talk about IT, but is great to understand the lean toyota concepts, theory of constraints and much more. If you want to dig deeper into the roots of DevOps and Lean, this is a classic to dive into.
The "Bible" of CI/CD proponents, and one of my favorites. A great book covering almost any pattern and anti pattern you could think of, in a very deep manner.
